About Client:
Our client is a Montréal-based consulting firm specializing in environmental, geotechnical, building inspection, and energy efficiency services. The firm supports real estate, construction, and development projects across Québec, Ontario, Canada-wide, and select U.S. mandates.
Known for its entrepreneurial culture, multidisciplinary expertise, and hands-on leadership, ORTAM delivers high-quality advisory services to institutional, private, and public-sector clients.
They continue to expand its real estate advisory capabilities, we are seeking an Appraiser / Évaluateur agréé with strong commercial and residential appraisal experience to support diverse valuation mandates.
The Opportunity:
This role is ideal for an experienced, credentialed appraiser who enjoys autonomy, client interaction, and working in a consulting-driven, multidisciplinary environment.
You will manage appraisal files end-to-end and deliver defensible, high-quality valuation reports across a range of property types, primarily in Québec, with opportunities to support national mandates as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct commercial and residential real estate appraisals, including income-producing, owner-occupied, and residential properties.
- Prepare professional appraisal reports in compliance with, OEAQ standards and AACI / Appraisal Institute of Canada standards
- Perform site inspections, market research, comparable analysis, and valuation modeling.
- Apply appropriate valuation approaches (Income, Direct Comparison, Cost).
- Support valuations for financing, acquisitions, portfolio reviews, development, and advisory mandates.
- Communicate findings clearly with clients, lenders, legal professionals, and internal stakeholders.
- Manage multiple appraisal assignments while meeting deadlines and quality expectations.
- Maintain strong knowledge of Montréal, Québec, and broader Canadian real estate markets.
Requirements:
- Évaluateur agréé
- OEAQ
- AACI
- CRA
- 3–7+ years of real estate appraisal experience, with strong exposure to both commercial and residential assets.
- Experience supporting multi-provincial or national appraisal mandates is an asset.
- Strong analytical, report-writing, and communication skills.
- Comfortable working independently in a client-facing, advisory role.
- Bilingual French & English (written and spoken).
- Valid driver’s license; ability to travel for site visits as required.
