POSITION SUMMARY

The Order Fulfillment Technician (Live Goods) is responsible for performing the physical preparation, staging, and movement of plant material to support customer order fulfillment. This role will work with and direct a small team to support order fulfillment activities. The role focuses on accurate execution of daily order requirements, material flow to the production line, and adherence to established procedures.

This job posting is for a newly created position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Product Preparation:

  • Receive plants from the greenhouses and verify the plant count to ensure the production line has sufficient inventory to fill orders;
  • Collaborate with the Harvest Manager mixes for orders cannot be made (due to plant shortages, quality concerns, etc.);
  • Identify, separate, and report defective plants or waste according to established procedures.

Product Staging:

  • Define, plan and organize ideal plant colour and variety mixes to fulfill orders based on current inventory, following company guidelines;
  • Organize product in the cooler to ensure proper product rotation (first in-first out);
  • Utilize cooler and staging space efficiently to maintain plant quality;

Product Movement:

  • Physically move and position plant carts to supply the production line in a timely manner to ensure continuous flow.
  • Apply accurate labeling to plant carts and materials as required;
  • Initiate live goods transfer requests for plant movements between facilities.

Reporting and ERP Support:

  • Track and record waste inventory from coolers;
  • Update Live Goods inventory file and share inventory information with key stakeholders daily;
  • Enter required data into Microsoft Business Central (MSBC) accurately and in a timely manner.

General Responsibilities:

  • Escalate any issues with order fulfillment to the Harvest Manager;
    • Work in compliance with company policies and procedures, and the Occupational Health & Safety Act;
    • Participate in meetings related to role;
    • Perform other duties as assigned;

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working with perishable or live products in a manufacturing or greenhouse environment.
  • Familiarity with FIFO principles and basic inventory handling.
  • Experience in a fast-paced production or fulfillment environment.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including data entry into operational systems.

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize;
  • Good judgment/ability to make decisions;
  • Strong verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other team members;
  • Understanding of greenhouse product flow an asset.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Ability to stand 8+ hours per day;
  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs occasionally;
  • Ability to push 50-100 lbs frequently;
  • Working in a cool/ warm, humid indoor environment with moderate noise level and around moving machinery;
  • Available to work overtime hours as required;
  • Mandatory requirement to wear steel toe safety shoes/boots and high visibility jacket.
