- Design and implement a centralized, scalable inventory of risks and controls covering regulatory and operational risks.
- Ensure key risks and controls are clearly defined, consistently documented, and aligned with the Enterprise Risk Taxonomy and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the control inventory through regular updates and quality assurance reviews.
- Map controls to key risks, business processes, and regulatory obligations to ensure comprehensive coverage.
- Support the Enterprise Regulatory Compliance Management (eRCM) program, complete the mapping of new/existing controls to new/existing regulatory obligations.
- Establish governance processes for control lifecycle management, including creation, modification, retirement, and ownership.
- Develop and deliver reporting and dashboards to senior management and risk committees on control coverage, effectiveness, and gaps.
- Partner with business units, risk owners, and control owners to promote accountability and awareness of control responsibilities.
- Provide subject matter expertise and training on control documentation standards and inventory tools.
- Provide support to deliver programs and activities dependent on the control inventory such as:
- Risk and controls self-assessment (RCSA) program.
- Compliance Risk and Control Assessment (CRCA).
- New Initiatives Risk Assessment (NIRA).
- Support Compliance, Internal Audit, or other testing activities by acting as the central coordinator between testing groups and business units.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve the effectiveness of risk and compliance policies, processes, and activities.
- Maintain awareness of regulatory requirements, emerging risks and industry best practices in risk and compliance management.
- Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions, with a specific focus on third party risks.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in compliance, legal, regulatory or closely related disciplines in the Financial Services industry
- Strong understanding of regulations and compliance risks impacting the Bank and the importance of key mitigating controls.
- Experience with identifying, documenting and assessing risk and controls within the first line.
- Experience in delivering on regulatory compliance projects and/or programs.
- Excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to effectively communication with business partners at all levels of the Bank.
- Proven leadership and time-management skills.
- Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and negotiating skills.
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
