One of Canada’s leading distributors of woodworking materials is expanding its team and seeking for a COLOR MATCHER for our WOOD COATINGS DIVISION. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical aptitude in wood finishing and a keen eye for color accuracy. You will work with a wide range of coating products including stains, primers, pre-cat and post-cat lacquers, urethanes, and water-based systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform custom color matching with a high degree of accuracy
- Provide color-matching services for customers – meeting rush requirements
- Maintain and update formula and recipe databases
- Support sales team with technical expertise and product application guidance
- Strong wood finishing technical aptitude
- Familiar with viscometer, gloss meter, light box, film thickness meter, etc. for testing coating products
- Prepare samples as required
- Ability to lift to 50lbs.
- Maintain high standards of quality control and safe work practices
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong knowledge of Wood Coatings Industry
- Proven aptitude for accurate color matching
- Excellent color vision
- Self-motivated, disciplined, and able to work independently
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Professional interpersonal skills with a collaborative, team-focused approach
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
