Job Description
Cortex is recruiting certified chainsaw operators to assist with Firesmart and Pipeline Projects in Grande Prairie and Fort McMurray immediately.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain chainsaw in a safe and efficient manner.
- Safely fell, limb, and buck trees to project specifications.
- Pre-mow and remove debris to assist mulchers.
- Ensure that all safety protocols and procedures are followed at all times
- Perform basic maintenance and repairs on chainsaws.
Requirements:
- Must have a valid Chainsaw Ticket: Level 1-3.
- Opportunities available for UTT/UTW.
- Safety Tickets: Standard First Aid, H2S Alive, CSTS 2020, CSO, WHMIS, TDG.
- UTV training (Canadian Safety Council) is an asset.
- Class 5 drivers license with a clean abstract.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test (including cannabis).
- Be willing to work outdoors for long hours in various weather conditions.
- Flexible to travel.
- Be 18 years of age or older.
Additional:
- Accommodations and LOA are provided when working out of town.
- A company vehicle will be provided for travel.
- Overtime.
