About the Role
Homeland Housing is seeking a Temporary full-time (37.5 hours/week) Community Manager. The successful candidate is a creative, results-oriented leader passionate about supportive living and seniors’ care. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Community Manager is responsible for operational leadership of Heritage Place Lodge, a 44 room seniors’ supportive living community, Paul Krauskopf Court, a 40-suite community affordable living apartment community, and Lions Manor/Heritage Place Apartments, a 14 suite seniors subsidized apartment community. All sites are located in Morinville, Alberta.
Responsibilities
· Provides leadership oversight of the day-to-day operations of assigned sites.
· Attracting, developing, and retaining a highly engaged team of housekeeping, food services, maintenance, and administrative professionals.
· Consistently achieves occupancy, operational, financial, and compliance metrics.
· Actively markets the community, identifying marketing opportunities and contacting key stakeholders.
· Builds strong relationships with resident families, community stakeholders, and Alberta Health Services.
· Ensures occupancy and suite turnover targets are met.
· Partners with Human Resources to manage recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, workplace health and safety, staff development, performance management, and corrective action.
· Partners with Finance to prepare and manage operating and capital budgets.
· Fosters Homeland Housing’s mission, vision, and values.
Skills and Abilities
· Intermediate skills/knowledge of Office 365
· Strong communication and analytical skills.
· A high level of intellectual curiosity. Demonstrates strong judgment in the face of ambiguity.
· Ability to plan, organize and direct operations of assigned sites
· Strong conflict resolution and team-building skills.
· Demonstrates empathy and understanding of the needs of seniors.
Qualifications
· Post-secondary education (diploma or degree) in human services, gerontology, licensed practical nurse, or business administration preferred. However, a combination of education and experience may be considered.
· Experience working in a supportive living, hotel/hospitality, community service, and not-for-profit organization is an asset.
Working Conditions

· Local travel to meetings. Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
· Ability to take part in ‘on call’ rotations
