Job Description
The Key Holder will help to advance the organization’s strategic goals by embracing the mission, vision, and values of WINS.
Reporting to the Store Manager, Key Holder is an integral member of the Social Enterprise team. We need a trustworthy and reliable individual to join the team as a Part-time Key Holder. As the keeper of the keys, this role is responsible for opening and store closing, alarm system procedures, supervisory and customer service responsibilities in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager. This is a part-time position located in Bowness.
The ideal candidate is an organized multitasker, able to handle many diverse projects at once, while meeting tight timelines.
Here’s What You’ll Get to Do
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service
- Assess customers’ needs and provide assistance and information on products
- Sort, tag, hang merchandise, arrange, restock sales floor
- Must be able to move all sizes of furniture on a daily basis
- Responsible for carrying keys and alarm codes, opening/closing store procedures
- Perform and supervise daily store procedures including maintaining a tidy and organized work area
- Train, support team members; assign daily tasks, monitor and assist cashiers and other store staff
- Respect and comply with all WINS policies and procedures, ensure staff and volunteers are aware of, and comply with WINS policies and safety standards
- Provide customer/client/donor-focused service, welcome customers and assist with their requests
- Manage paperwork and tend to managerial office tasks in the absence of the management team
- Check and respond to emails and phone messages
- Create a positive and welcoming experience for the team, customers, clients, donors and volunteers
- Ensure employee/customer/donor/volunteer concerns are addressed in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain cash handling procedures and standards to complete bank deposits, balance safe and point of sale, document and report any daily variances in a timely and accurate manner
- Ensure and maintain a safe working environment for employees and volunteers in the store
- Ensure donations and garbage left outside of store premises are picked up on a daily basis
- Secure store premises on a daily basis, ensure loss prevention policies are consistently adhered to
- Ensure and maintain a safe working environment for all team members
- Report workplace injuries and incidents immediately
- Maintain store standards and follow all protocols and procedures
- Other duties as assigned by management regarding all functions of store operations
Here’s What You’ll Need
- Post-secondary education or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience:
- Previous management experience in a retail or customer service environment is an asset
Personal/ Professional Attributes:
- Must be physically fit with the ability to lift 50 lbs individually or 100 lbs as a member of a team
- Must be eligible to work in Canada
- Strong communication, interpersonal and coaching skills
- Must have a customer service focus with the ability to lead, motivate and supervise the team
- Must have proficient working knowledge of MS Office, including Excel, Work and Outlook
- Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize the daily work of the team
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time (entire shift)
- Must have a flexible schedule, available to work any shift from Sunday to Saturday
- Must be work ready with steel-toed safety boots/shoes, CSA approved
