Hoffman Law, a boutique litigation firm in Calgary specializing in Family Law, is recruiting for a legal assistant to join their team. Their dedicated team of professionals is committed to assisting clients in navigating diverse family law matters, including matters related to support, parenting, and family property disputes. Hoffman law prides itself on its small-team approach that brings a personal touch to the firm/client relationship, where legal assistants are integral to the services provided to their clients.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Drafting letters, memos, and other documents from dictation;
- Filing of court documents by way of email/digital submission in accordance with Court requirements;
- Managing client files based on the instruction of the responsible lawyer and gathering information as required;
- Providing clients, lawyers, and other legal assistants with support on projects including:
- Photocopying, scanning, emailing, and filing for lawyers on in office client files; and
- Building and updating pleadings, disclosure, and legal/trial binders;
- Following company policies and procedures in a manner that demonstrates a personal commitment towards their implementation;
- Booking, preparing, and organizing boardrooms as required;
- Inputting and tracking important deadlines in lawyer calendars;
- Working collaboratively with other legal assistants, in addition to independently working on assigned client files.
Experience:
- Formal training is an asset;
- Exceptional client service, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills;
- Previous law firm experience is required, preferably in a family law setting;
- Experience in legal software such as CLIO;
- Proficient in Outlook, Adobe, and Microsoft Word. Proficiency in Excel and SpeechExec, or other dictation software, considered an asset;

Pay: $50,700.00-$56,00.00 per year
